Roylee Haithcox

RoyLee Haithcox, 88, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mr. Haithcox was born June 24, 1925 in Iredell County and was the son of the late William Hugh Haithcox and Lula Bell Haithcox. He attended Iredell County schools and was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church. He was retired from J.C. Steele and Sons and loved camping and fishing. Mr. Haithcox is survived by two daughters, Sharron H. Harris (Jerry) of Statesville, Carolyn H. Gantt of Statesville, one grandson, Brian F. Gantt (Stephanie) of Statesville, two granddaughters, Dawn Weaver (Erik) of Taylorsville, Tracie Gantt (Chris) of Statesville, six great grandchildren, Makayla and Landon Kanous, Reese and Ava Weaver and Maddox and Julia Gantt, one brother, Tommy Haithcox and two sisters, Rachel Holland and Nancy Davidson. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Franklin Gantt, one grandson, Bradley Harris and three brothers, Fred, James and Benny Haithcox. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2014 at Diamond Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Holleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 1:30-3:00 p.m. at Diamond Hill Baptist Church and at other times will assemble at the home of Sharron and Jerry Harris, 767 Bell Farm Rd., Statesville, NC.
