Rose Genovese

Rose Genovese, 95, formerly of Woods Hollow Road, Gloversville, NY, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home. She was born in the Bronx on January 20, 1918, a daughter of Frank and Angelina Capazolla Rizzo and was a 1935 graduate of James Monroe High School. Rose lived in East Meadow, Long Island and moved to North Carolina in 1984. She moved to Gloversville in 2009 and resided with her daughter. Rose was employed as secretary for Breslin Real Estate in East Meadow, NY. She was married to Nicholas Genovese on June 19, 1938. He died January 8, 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (William) Ferry of Gloversville; a son, Nicholas (Mary Lou) Genovese of Chino Valley, AZ; a sister, Camille Santomoreno of Yonkers; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 10:30 am Friday, May 24, 2013 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Father Kirk Fohn officiating. The family will visit with friends 6:30 until 8:00 pm Thursday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
