Mr. Ronald Edward "Truck" Turner, 66, of Statesville, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and style. Born on February 9, 1958, in Iredell County to Leonard E. Turner and Mary Houpe Turner, Ronald, affectionately known as "Truck," was a man who made a lasting impression wherever he went. He had a natural charisma and a sharp sense of style that made him stand out in any crowd. Known for always being impeccably dressed, "Truck" was the epitome of cool. His wardrobe was always on point, and his presence exuded confidence and charm, making him a true standout in every setting. His love for cars extended beyond the race track. Ronald took immense pride in keeping his vehicles spotless—his cars were always clean, polished, and well-maintained. It wasn’t just about appearance; it was about the care and attention to detail he put into everything he did. Whether he was behind the wheel or simply admiring a freshly washed car, "Truck" was known for his perfectionism and pride in his possessions. A dedicated worker, Ronald spent much of his career at Clarks Components, where he built strong relationships and earned the respect of his colleagues. He also owned a car detailing shop, combining his love for vehicles with his entrepreneurial spirit. His work ethic and passion for his craft were evident to everyone who knew him. Ronald’s love for motorsports was another defining aspect of his life. He spent many years racing motorcycles and cars at drag strips, where his competitive spirit and love for speed were on full display. He also found success in weightlifting, earning numerous victories in competitions over the years. Whether in the gym or on the racetrack, Ronald was always striving to be his best. Though his many accomplishments were impressive, what truly defined Ronald was his love for his family. He was a devoted father, brother, and grandfather. He treasured every moment spent with his family, and his warmth, humor, and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him.
Ronald is survived by his son, Ronald Williams; daughter, Ranelle Davis; brother, Leonard Turner, Jr.; sisters, Jenise Turner and Treva Miller (Daryl); two grandchildren; special Aunt Maggie Turner, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
