Ronald "Ronnie" Phillip Addison

Ronald "Ronnie" Phillip Addison, 74, of Statesville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 13, 2015. Born March 10, 1941 in Durham County, he was the adopted son of the late L. Roy and Edith Troutman Addison. On February 14, 1986, he was married to Martha Davis Addison, who survives of the home. Ronnie graduated from Statesville Senior High School in the class of 1959, attended Appalachian University, and Virginia Commonwealth University. He worked in the family business of Addison's Trim Shop and was the owner of Ronnie's Men's Wear, and retired from Gordon Industries of Statesville in 2003 He was a five point Calvinist, having been a member of First ARP Church and the Sheepfood Gospel Bible Study. Ronnie is a former President of the City of Statesville Kiwanis Club and he remembered the names of people he hadn't seen in 50 years and also their suit sizes. He loved the mountains. In addition to his wife, Martha, he is survived by two daughters, Debbie A. Henderson (Byron) of Statesville and Jill Addison of Statesville; two sons, J. Cary Addison (Edie) of Florida and P. Dean Addison of Asheville; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and special cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tracy and Lola Troutman; and paternal grandparents, James and Maggie Addison. A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 17, 2015 in Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Phillip McCoy officiating with the family receiving friends following the service.
