Roma "Jean" Jones

Roma "Jean" Helton Jones, 72, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at CMC-Main in Charlotte. She was born in Avondale, WV on July 25, 1946 to the late Henry and Violet Addair Helton.



Jean had worked at Hunt Manufacturing many years. She found peace in the outdoors especially by the ocean and the mountains. Jean loved gardening, swimming in the pool, and spending time with the grandkids. Her life was her children and grandchildren whom she doted on. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.



Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Walls and Kathleen Stinson, and two brothers, Warren and Roger Helton



She is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Warrix (Randall) and Christy Wade (Jason), both of Statesville; six grandchildren, Chelsey Coleman (Tyler Rose), Amber Coleman, Sarah Warrix, Sydney Warrix, Carson Warrix, and Julie Wade; two great grandchildren, Rylee Rose and Gabriella Dotson; one sister, Linda Blevins (Darrell) of Avondale, WV; one brother, Howard Helton (Nita) of Maiden; two sisters-in-law, Ocie Helton and Mary Helton; special friends, Greg and Leann Sexton; and numerous nieces and nephews.



A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Gospel Lighthouse Church in China Grove, NC with Pastor Leroy Blankenship officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service and a meal will be provided. A private family and friends internment will be held at a later date in West Virginia.
