Roland Arthur Reese

Mr. Roland Arthur Reese, 86, of Statesville passed away, Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC. Mr. Reese was born May 1, 1930 in Savannah, GA to the late Roland Wilbur Reese and Anna Ruth Howard Fields. He attended schools in Savannah, GA, Eastman, GA and Georgia Southern University before joining the US Air Force, having served in the Korean Conflict. On April 21, 1957, he married Ann Hudson Reese who survives of the home and they had four children. Mr. Reese was the owner and operator of Roland Reese & Associates, until he retired in 2002. He loved his family and friends and was an avid golfer. He believed golf could teach many life lessons in which he installed in his children. In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by three sons, Russell Reese of Statesville, Randy Reese of Tampa, FL, Rodney Reese (Carmen) of Huntersville; one daughter, Amy Wing (Michael) of Troutman, NC; seven grandchildren, Rachel, Wesley, Emily, Chloe, Morgan, Harrison and Juanita along with five great grandchildren, Jaxon, Ryker, Aryanna, Parker and Alexander. He is further survived by one sister, Ann Marcus of Panacea, FL; two brother-in-law's, Eddie Hudson, Phil Hudson and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced by Nicholson Funeral Home.
