Roberta Waugh

October 24, 1934 — April 18, 2015

Mrs. Roberta Pritchett Waugh, 80, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Waugh was born October 24, 1934, in High Point, NC and was the daughter of the late Hal Thomas Pritchett and Myrtle Lenora Guy Redman. She was a graduate of Scotts High School and Mitchell Community College. Mrs. Waugh was first married to Ernest Fox, and following his death, she married J.D. Waugh, who too preceded her in death. She was a member of South River Baptist Church, served as the church clerk, and was a member of the Young at Heart Club. She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women Club. Mrs. Waugh was a bookkeeper and secretary for Kewaunee Scientific and retired following 45 years of service. Along with her husbands, she was preceded in death by three step-brothers and two step-sisters. She is survived by numerous cousins, three step sons, Lonnie Waugh (Mary) of Oak Island, NC, Steven Waugh and Barry Waugh (Barbara), both of Statesville. She is also survived by several grandchildren. Funeral services for Roberta Waugh will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at South River Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Thompson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to South River Baptist Church, 2659 S.
