Robert Walter Mcneely

Robert Walter McNeely, Sr., 69, of Statesville, passed away at his residence surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was born in Iredell County on February 15, 1949 to the late Jay "JC" Crawford McNeely, Jr. and Doris Strikeleather McNeely.



Robert attended Iredell County Schools and was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church. He was married on July 1, 2012 to Patti Edwards McNeely who survives. Robert was a self-employed paint contractor.



Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patti; a son, Bobby McNeely; a daughter, Kim Young; four grandsons, Ethan, Cameron, Matthew, and Zachary; step-children, Nicholas, Holly, and Samuel; and step-grandchildren, Ty, Jaxon, Maddyx, Jayse, and Gemma. He is also survived by two brothers, Jay McNeely III (Jane) and Carl McNeely (Cathy); two sisters, Ann Messick and Sue Clanton (Dorman); aunts; cousins; nephews; nieces; and friends.



A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Robert will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sharon Snow officiating. The family speak with friends following the service.
