Heaven received a special child of God and very Proud Marine Feb 3 when Dick Martin went to his eternal home surrounded by his loving Family and Friends.
Born in Alexander County to Ralph and Hilda Martin he became a Husband a loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Marine and Friend to everyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing him.
Dick was predeceased by a Sister Barbara Sharpe and Sons Dennis Klonoski, Brad Shaver and Granddaughter Madison Shaver.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Pat, and Brother Bill Martin (Nancy); daughters Lisa Schafer, Wendi Anthony, Misti Murray and Shane Sparks (Joey) Sons Mike and Kenny Klonoski and Chad Shaver.
Grandchildren. Chris Klonoski (Callista), Jessica and Bekah Schafer, Brenden and Taylor Anthony, Brittani and Brooke Murray, Devin Haire, Peyton Sparks, Josh Shaver. Great Grandchild Zachary Klonoski. A very special young man to Dick, Tanner Brown Sigmon. Also surviving is the Mother of seven of his children, Carolyn Saunders.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Wednesday at Nicholson Funeral Home 135 E. Front St. Services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday at Front Street Baptist Church, 1403 W. Front St. Statesville, NC. Burial with full Military Honors will follow the service at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
