Richard Lee Smith Sr.

Richard Lee Smith, age 68, of Lexington, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023, at his home after a four-month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He fought a hard fight, but God had another plan for him.

He loved to work in his yard, watch NASCAR, and the Minnesota Vikings. He loved his "fur babies," Chet and Mocha.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Henry Smith; his mom, Elsie Smith; his stepmother, Frances Smith; his niece, Sandi Brooks; and his son, Richard Lee Smith, Jr.

He leaves behind his wife, the love of his life of 29 years, Susan; his brother, Clay Smith; sister, Margaret Sandridge; Paternal half-siblings, Scott Smith, and Linda Smith; nieces, Michelle E. Williams (Marty), Renee Medlin (Keith); several great nieces and great nephews; his brother-in-law and caregiver, Eric McMahan (Darla); and nephews, Zack and Jonathan McMahan.
