Richard Lee Mclain

Mr. Richard Lee McLain, 67, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at his home. Mr. McLain was born March 1, 1949, in Watseka, IL and was the son of the late Jasper McLain and Lula Mae Wieringa McLain. He graduated from Watseka High School and Illinois State University where he received his degree in Computer Science. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Baumholder, Germany as a military police officer for two years. Mr. McLain was owner/operator of Rycon Electric in Statesville, NC He enjoyed the outdoors and especially camping and fishing. He was also a strong supporter of continuing education. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Mathys. Left to cherish his memory a sister, Beverly Stair (Marvyn) of Sheldon, IL, a daughter, Adrian Lane of Gridley, IL, a son, Ryan McLain (AnnMarie) of Bloomington, IL. He is also survived by grandchildren, Carson Lane, Seth Lane, Chase Lane, and Noah Boomgarden, all of Gridley, IL along with a number of nieces and nephews. No services are scheduled locally.
