Rex Hal Jenkins

Mr. Rex Hal Jenkins, age 85, of Statesville, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, N.C. Born in Washington, D.C., on January 3, 1932, he was a son of the late Annie Lee Hoke and Hal Jenkins. After graduating from Scotts High School, Rex was in the United States Navy from February 26, 1951 until his honorable discharge on February 8, 1955. After serving in the military, Rex attended and graduated from Appalachian College in 1965. He married the late Patricia Elizabeth Smith on July 21, 1965. He worked for the U. S. Post Office, N.C. State Revenue Department, Clerk Of Court Office and retired as a Magistrate in Statesville. Rex is survived by one daughter, Beth Jenkins and husband, Dale Head of Stony Point, N.C., one son, Robbie Jenkins and wife, Christy Jenkins of Statesville, granddaughter, Caroline Jenkins and grandson Christian Jenkins both of Statesville, a step granddaughter, Chrissy Head Link and husband BJ Link and step grandson, Dustin Head and wife Becca Head of Taylorsville. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the National Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C. with Rev. Dr. Earl Linderman officiating. Military Rites will be presented.
