Rena Prichard

Mrs. Rena Marie Blevins Prichard, 71, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Prichard was born March 21, 1941 in Ashe County and was the daughter of the late Manley Blevins and Rose Weaver Blevins Little. She was a graduate of Ashe County schools and was married to James Prichard who preceded her in death on June 22, 2001. Mrs. Prichard was of the Baptist faith and she was retired from Fast Phil's Convenient Store. She enjoyed baking and knitting as a hobby. Mrs. Prichard is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Whitson (Randy Penland) of Statesville and Robin Zimmerman (Robert) of Hickory along with one son, Charles Marty Prichard of Troutman. She is also survived by two grandsons, Adam and Aaron Whitson of Statesville and an uncle, Jack Weaver of Warrensville, N.C. She is further survived by a special grandson, Patrick Whitson of Statesville. A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Prichard will be conducted Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the home of Kimberly Whitson, 124 Spring Meadows Lane, Statesville, N.C. 28677.
