Rebecca Paulette Matney, 52, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025.
Rebecca was born in Iredell County on December 16, 1972 to Mr. Hoyt Cloer and Mrs. Paulette Henderson Cloer. Rebecca was a graduate of West Iredell High School. While attending she played the flute in the school band and was a member of the color guard. Rebecca was a loving daughter, mother, and grandmother. She cherished the simple joys that make life so meaningful. She loved spending time by the bonfire, surrounded by family and friends. A talented cook, she found great happiness in preparing meals that brought people together.
Her spiritual outlook guided her through life’s ups and downs. Rebecca had a heart that overflowed with love, whether for her family, her friends, or her cherished pets. She had a special soft spot for animals, especially cats, who always seemed to know they had found a loving home with her.
A true people person, Rebecca had a natural ability to connect with others. She could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Rebecca’s passions extended beyond her home and loved ones. She had a love for speed and excitement cheering on her favorite NASCAR drivers and watching the drag races. An avid football fan, she rooted proudly for the San Francisco 49ers
