Raymond G. Thomas

Raymond Giles Thomas of 909 Ranchero St Statesville died November 23, 2013 at Gordon Hospice House. He was born January 5, 1934 in Lewiston, ME, the son of Merton and Eleanor Thomas. He attended school in Winslow, ME and served in VSAF during the Korean War. In 1954 he married Eleanor Goddard. He attended Prudential and Mass Mutual Insurance Schools and retired as VP of Marketing Investors Consolidated Insurance Co. He was a member of Rose Chapel UMC and was a 32 degree mason in Waterville ME., Lodge FAM. His most satisfying gift in life was playing the cornet in several bands and entertaining people, especially seniors at the Senior Center and Elder Care Center of Statesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Geri (Felix) Beaulieu and brother Richard (Connie). He is survived by his wife Eleanor and his four children; William (Diane), Charles (Tally), Jeffrey (Karen), daughter Sheila (Eddie), six grandchildren and nine great grand-children. Memorial Services will be held at the Chapel at Nicholson Funeral Home at 1:00PM Saturday Nov. 30 with the Rev. Ralph Lepley officiating. The family will assemble at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Chris Thomas at 470 Woodbridge Rd Statesville following the service.
