Ray Rex Rupard

Mr. Ray Rex Rupard, 89, of Union Grove, passed away, August 3, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Rupard was born February 8, 1926 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Rex Rupard and Duma McDaniels Rupard. He attended Iredell County schools and was a member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church. He worked for O. W. Slane Glass Co. for close to 30 years before retiring and enjoyed working on small engine repairs. He is survived by one sister, Faye R. Williams of Union Grove, one nephew, Riley Williams (Barbara) of Statesville, one great nephew, Scott Williams of Union Grove, three great great nephews, Christian Williams, Ethan Williams (Bethany), Jordan Williams (Morgan), one great great great nephew, Charlie Williams, one great great great niece, Anola Williams and four special friends, J.V. Shumaker, James Privette, Linda and Gary Cass. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Taylor Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Williams, Rev. Perry Link and Rev. Bobby Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Rupard will lie in state 30 minutes before the funeral hour and the family will visit with friends following the graveside service. Active pallbearers will be Riley Williams, Scott Williams, Christian Williams, Ethan Williams, Jordan Williams and Tommy McDaniels.
