Ray Mccoy

Mr. Thad Ray McCoy, 65, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mr. McCoy was born January 15, 1947 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Thad Woodrow McCoy and Frances Cranfill McCoy. He attended Iredell County schools and on March 14, 1965 he married Teresa "Terry" Myers McCoy, who survives. Mr. McCoy was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. Prior to his retirement, Ray was a self employed brick mason. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and most importantly, a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Terry McCoy, of the home, Mr. McCoy is also survived by one son, John Robert "Robbie" McCoy (Allison) and one daughter, Gina McCoy Ellis (Todd) along with four grandchildren, Benjamin and Hannah Ellis and Ethan and Katlyn McCoy. He is further survived by two brothers, Gene and Tony McCoy and three sisters, Frances Mae Cloer (Bud), Sandra Clark and Kay Dishman. Numerous nephews and nieces also survive. Funeral services for Mr. McCoy will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Pisgah United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Pisgah UMC Building Fund, 488 Hill Farm Road, Hiddenite, N.C. 28636.
