Ramona Faye Davidson

Ramona Faye Chapman Davidson, 87, of Statesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, June 4, 2018 at her home.



Mrs. Davidson, affectionally known as Nookie, was born in Alexander County on August 18, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee Chapman and Fannie Elizabeth Houston Chapman. On July 10, 1948 she was married to Ralph Davidson who preceded her in death on February 2, 1989.



Prior to retirement, Mrs. Davidson was employed as a florist with Johnson's Greenhouse and the Woolworth Co.



She was a member of Front Street Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and G.A. Leader. She was a member of The Hannah's Sunday School Class.



In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Fulbright.



Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Sherry Bush (Tommy) and Kimberly Chandler, (Danny) and one son, Eric Davidson (Tammy), along with one sister, Dorothy Privette and two brothers, Ted Chapman (Garnette) and Tommy Chapman (Janet). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Olivia and Ryan Bush, Callie Chandler Anderson (Shane), Canaan Chandler (Amanda), Mary Beth, Rachel and Bailey Davidson. She is further survived by five great-grandchildren, Trevis Bush, Chandler and Cael Anderson, Cole and Carson Chandler.



Funeral services honoring the life of Ramona Davidson will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Front Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Stutts officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1:30 until 2:45 PM at the church. The family will be assembled at other times at the home of Ramona Davidson.
