Rachel Lowman

Ms. Rachel Woodward Lowman, 90, of Statesville, passed away, Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Ms. Lowman was born May 1, 1926 in Iredell County to the late M.D. "Shorty" Woodward and Myrtle Johnson Woodward. She attended Iredell County schools and was married to the late Paul H. "Sam" Lowman, who passed away in 2000. She was member of Hebron Baptist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She is survived by one son, Ray Lowman (Linda) of Statesville, one daughter, Jannette Edwards of Fayetteville, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Reese Woodward and one sister, Laura Feimster. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Johnson and Rev. William Wease officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
