Rachel Estelle Holland

Rachel Estelle Haithcox Holland, 81, of Olin, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Rosewood Assisted Living. She was born in Iredell County on February 21, 1937 to the late William Hugh and Lulu Bell Haithcox.



Mrs. Holland was a graduate of Cool Spring High School and was married on September 22, 1960 to Wayne Holland, who survives. They shared over 58 years of marriage before her passing. She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service where she had served as Asst. Postmaster. Mrs. Holland was a member of Olin United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved cooking for family and anybody who showed up at the table.



Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Roy Lee, James, and Benny.



Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne; one daughter, Donna Templeton (Mike); two sons, Doug Holland (Renee) and Brad Holland (Kathryn); six grandchildren, Joshua Money, Ethan, Emily, Brittany, Ace, and Luke Holland; one brother, Tommy Haithcox; one sister, Nancy Davidson; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Olin United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Revels officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
