Polly Shoemaker Warren, 94, of Statesville died Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Gordon
Hospice House.
She was born in Iredell County on March 19, 1930, to the late Vernie King Shoemaker and Ina
McLain Shoemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Paul Warren,
two brothers, Jay Shoemaker, Keener Shoemaker, and three sisters, Ruby Moore, Dot
Dishman, and Mae Taylor.
Polly and her husband had owned a crafting business, and she finished the wood pieces they
made. She loved working in her flower garden, shopping, cooking, talking on the phone,
collecting pig figurines, singing and music. She was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church, and
she loved the church and her pastor.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Rodney Warren (Geri Forester), Roger
Warren (Cathy), a daughter, Donna Guy (George), three granddaughters, Amy Howard (Brian),
Holly Wooten (Ben), Adrienne Daniels (Alec Bruning-sole), five great-grandchildren, and a
brother, Albert Shoemaker.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Gloryland Baptist Church
with Pastor Blain Keaton officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell memorial Gardens. The family will
visit with friends from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm at the church prior to the service. Pallbearers will
be Brian Howard, Ben Wooten, Alec Bruning-Sole, Will Howard & Claude Duquette.

The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers, Brenda Church and Diane Lambert,
Dr. Joshi, and the staff of Gordon Hospice House for the loving care that was given to their
mother.
