Phyllis McQueen Greene

Phyllis McQueen Greene, age 96, formerly of Ellerbe, NC ,passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Riviera Palms Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Palmetto, FL.  Born on July 2, 1927, in Richmond County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Carl McQueen and Beulah Jenkins McQueen.

Mrs. Greene was a former active member of Jones Spring United Methodist Church in Ellerbe, NC where she sang in the church choir.  In addition to her parents, Carl and Beulah McQueen, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Coolidge Greene; her son-in-law, Harold Ervin Smith; grandson, Tim Smith; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory include her son, Ralph Green and his wife, Sandra; daughter, Patricia "Patsy" Green Smith; grandchildren, Ralph Green, Jr. and his wife, Tonya, Radley Green and his wife, Sarah, and Tony Smith and his wife, Crystal; great-grandchildren, Jayden Green, Drea Green, Aivree Green, Anthony Smith, Matt Smith, and Layne Smith; sisters, Evelyn and Louise; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Jones Springs Church Cemetery in Derby (Ellerbe), NC.  Nicholson Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
