Peggy Lee Whitley

Peggy Lee (Harvey) Whitley, 76, of Statesville, died Thursday, February 22, 2024, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born on May 12, 1947, in Welch, West Virginia to the late Onnie Harvey and Elsie Taylor Harvey. Peggy was also preceded in death by two sons, Samuel Dean Whitley, and Charles David Whitley: Four sisters Myrla Ziontek, Garnet Lyons, Phyllis Brooks, and Ruby Smith, Three brothers Roger Harvey, Bill Harvey and Skip Harvey.

Peggy was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling, casinos, and computer games. More than anything, she loved her family and spending time with them.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 41 years, Billie Whitley, two daughters, Rhonda Weihofen, and Carol Thrun, six grandchildren, Billie Deich, Jessica Hunt, Kimberly Frost, Paige Rubino, Emily Weihofen, Jason Weihofen, eight great-grandchildren, three sisters, Lena Miller (Kara Jr.), Mae Jester, and Bonita Olliff (Larry) and several nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be no formal services.
