Mrs. Peggy Rose Alexander, 72, slipped her earthly bonds to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday November 19, 2016, while on vacation in Florida, her beloved husband JFred was at her side. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday November 26 at 2:00pm at Pisgah United Methodist Church in Hiddenite, North Carolina. The family will receive friends and family from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Peggy a native of Iredell County, born on September 26, 1944 was the daughter of the late Luther and Rosalie McCreary. Mrs. Alexander attended Statesville Senior High School graduating in 1961. On December 16, 1963, on his 21st birthday, she married the love of her life, JFred Alexander and spent 54 joyous years together. During this time they were blessed with two wonderful children, Samantha Garris of Sanford and Brandon Alexander of Raleigh. Mrs. Alexander retired from the Iredell County Health Department in September 2006. Later that year she moved to Sanford North Carolina to be near the stars in her universe, her grandchildren Cole and Avery Garris. Whenever "Nannie" wasn't playing chauffeur, attending their special events or being the #1 fan at their sporting activities, she volunteered at Books at a Steal and the Lee County Library.
