Paul Weston

Mr. Paul Burette Weston, 92, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Weston was born December 14, 1921 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Claude Henry Weston and Lela Lucinda Bustle Weston-Massey. He attended Iredell County schools and on January 18, 1941 was married to the late Rosetta Benfield Weston, who died August 16, 2001. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, where he served in the Philippines and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He is survived by one daughter, Gail W. Hensley of Mocksville, six sons, Paul Lambert (Geraldine) of Harmony, Wayne Weston of Statesville, Gary Weston (Debbie) of Statesville, Tony Weston (Sandee) of Port Orange, FL, Duck Weston of Statesville, Billy Owings (Melody) of Statesville, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and one brother, Louis Weston of Conover. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death one daughter, Doris Privette, one son-in-law, Jerry Privette, one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Weston, five sisters, Helen, Ruby, Dorothy, Annie, Sarah and one brother, John Weston. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Carrington officiating. Burial will follow in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
