Patsy Montaigne

Patsy Ella Hooks Montaigne, 62, of Statesville, went to be with her savior Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Davis Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Montaigne was born May 19, 1948 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Woodrow Albert Hooks, Sr. and Margaret Stewart Hooks. She attended Celeste Henkel High and held numerous jobs before becoming disabled. She attended Redemption Life Center. Mrs. Montaigne is survived by three sons, Kenny Pierce (Melissa) of Stony Point, David Montaigne (Stephanie) of the home, Jamie Montaigne (Traci) of Statesville; 10 grandchildren, Ethan and Kirsten Pierce, Logan Woodle, Colton Pierce, Reagan Pierce, Brandon Montaigne, Jacob Montaigne, Hunter Montaigne, Tyler Montaigne and Kaylynn Montaigne; two sisters, Judy Tallent and Gloria Huffman (Danny) all of Statesville, one brother, Woodrow Albert Hooks, Jr. (Kaye) of Conover and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Hooks and two sisters, Susan Rebecca Hooks and Gail H. Stewart. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at New Bethany Baptist Church with Revs. Nute Shelton, Jeff Teague and Rick Hamrick officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home and will assemble at the Montaigne residence on Stamey Farm Rd. Active pallbearers will be Bradley Stewart, Jerry Huffman, Timmy Byrd, Dale Teague, Joe Montaigne, Eddie Teague, Corey Stewart, Justin Adamczyk and Woodrow Hooks, III. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W. Suite 800, Dist. Of Columbia, DC 20004.
