Patsy Hughes Smiley

Patsy Hughes Smiley, age 74, of Statesville passed away peacefully on August 28, 2021, at her home.

She was born July 16, 1947, in Johnson City, Tennessee the daughter of the late Frank Hughes and Tina Mae Dugger Hughes. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Smiley Sr.; grandchild, Christopher Stigall; and sister, Judith Scott.

Patsy was employed with Ferry Cap Set & Screw for over 20 years until her retirement. She loved to play card games such as Spades and do word search puzzles. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra Massey, David Berry and wife Mary, and Jay Berry and wife Jenn; stepchildren, Ronnie Smiley and wife Sandy and Kimberly Ackroyd and husband Eric; grandchildren, Caressa Goss (Phillip), Tonya Wilkins (Justin), Kaitlyn Berry, Stephen Berry, Kenneth Stigall (Jeana), Charles Eric Ackroyd (Karlee), Sierra Ackroyd (Steven) and Ashley Ackroyd; nine great grandchildren; brother, Randolph Hughes; sister, Shelia Barrera; and numerous other loving family and friends.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
