Patsy Goforth

Patsy Somers Goforth, 73, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Patsy was born November 17, 1939 to Charlie and Leona Somers of Statesville. She was married for 53 years to Johnny Goforth, who survives. She was a graduate of Harmony High School. She was employed throughout the years by Myers Oil, Beroth Oil and Myers Stained Glass. Patsy loved her friends and neighbors on Lentz Road. The family wishes to thank them for all they have done during her illness. In addition to her husband, Johnny, of the home, Patsy is also survived by two daughters, Tonja Goforth and Sheila Martin (Terry), both of Statesville; her pride and joy, Maggie Martin, her granddaughter; her brothers and sisters, Richard Somers (Christine), Norman Somers, Joyce Gossett (Ray) and James Somers (Loretta). She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Tootie Robertson (Bill) along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Patsy will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Johnson and Rev. William Wease officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
