Patricia Wooten

July 7, 1933 — February 16, 2025

Patricia Jane Stradley Wooten, born on July 7, 1933, in Iredell County, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life on February 16, 2025, at Ashley River Health Care in Charleston, South Carolina.

Pat was predeceased by her husband Jimmie Reece Wooten and by her parents Alpheus Berton “Bert” Stradley and Margaret Horne Stradley. Left to cherish her memory are her son Eric Wooten (Kathleen Cartland) of Charleston, SC; daughter Deborah Wooten Haithcox (Jay) of Statesville, NC; granddaughter Arami Bolick Moore (John) of Leicester, NC; and sister Ann Stradley (Rex Adamson) of Casio, Australia.

Pat graduated with the class of 1951 of Statesville High School and later earned a Paralegal certificate from Davidson County Community College. She worked for many years at the Statesville City Hall. After becoming a Paralegal, she worked at Chamblee and Nash Attorneys at Law. Then as Assistant to Garner Bagnal at Forest Products Inc. Finally with her husband, Jim, at their Wooten Insurance Agency they served hundreds of clients in Statesville and Iredell County.

Pat and Jim along with their children and Pat’s parents were long time active members of the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian church in Statesville. Pat was a legacy member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Pat, as well as her daughter Deborah and granddaughter Arami, was a member of the local Fort Dobbs Chapter, NSDAR, Statesville, NC.

A beloved figure within her community, Patricia’s life was marked by a deep compassion for others and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends. Throughout her years, she made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

As a second chapter in life, Pat moved to the coast of SC to be close to her son, Eric. It was here where she fell in love with his alma mater, The Citadel, and often attended football games and social activities. In this later life, she also developed a new interest in pets, where she quickly fell in love with an English Bulldog, Ms. Jamie Blue and later a beagle, Mr. Billy Ray.

Patricia possessed a rare gift of warmth and kindness that lit up the lives of those around her. She shared countless joyful moments and cherished memories that will continue to resonate with her loved ones. Her presence was a source of strength, comfort, and unwavering support, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 11 from 1:00pm – 2:pm at Oakwood Cemetery, North Oakwood Drive.
