Patricia Ann (Pat) Munday Campbell, 79, of Statesville, passed away, Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Campbell was born November 11, 1937 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Lamar Munday and Ora Mae Fulp Munday. She was a graduate of Scotts High School, Mars Hill College, Lenoir-Rhyne College and received her Masters from UNC Charlotte. On February 24, 1968, she was married to Jerry Marshall Campbell, who survives of Statesville and they are members of First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. Her first job was being the secretary for First Baptist Church, then became a teacher for 3 years in Birmingham, AL and later moved back to Statesville and became a teacher with Pressley Elementary School for 30 years until she retired in 1998. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Lisa Ann Campbell Shankle of Statesville, one son, David M. Campbell of Burnsville, NC, foster son, Sergei Kireyev of Ovieda, FL who was a foreign exchange student who lived with the Campbells for five years, and three grandchildren, Ruth Ann Shankle, Christopher Thomas Shankle and Ethan Alexander Kireyev. She was preceded in death by one sister, Kathy Lamar Munday. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Nelson Granade and Rev. Dr. Jack Causey officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service at the church.
