Nora Daniels

Mrs. Nora W. Daniels, 83, of Statesville, died Monday, June 3, 2013 at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Daniels was born on December 13, 1929 in Alexander County to the late George R. Woods and Annie Davis Woods. Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Daniels, whom she married in 1947. Shortly after her marriage to Charles, they moved to Montana and started their own lumber business, where she held various positions in the company. During their 17 years in Montana, Nora also became the owner/operator of the White Sulphur Springs Motel and this is where she got her start in the real estate profession. She was a very strong willed person which led her to start a very successful career. Upon returning to Iredell County, she started Daniels Realty which she continued to operate for several years. During her retirement years, Mrs. Daniels continued to manage rental properties. She was not only a successful business woman, but a kind, caring and very generous woman to her family, which came naturally without concerns for recognition. Mrs. Daniels is survived by three children, one daughter, Candace D. Brown (Bradley Warren), two sons, Jon Daniels (Amanda), both of Statesville and Jerry Lee "Buddy" Daniels of Dalton, GA, one beloved sister, Thelma W. "Sis" Wilson of Statesville, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Oakwood Cemetery.
