Nelson Gene Reavis

Mr. Nelson Gene Reavis, 71, of Harmony, died Friday, October 2, 2015 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Rowan County on June 13, 1944, he was a son of the late Nelson Carlton Reavis and Ruth Renegar Reavis. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and particularly special granddaughters, Sofia Revollar and Madison Reavis. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jesus Revollar. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, the former Nancy Alene Souther, whom he married June 23, 1991, his children: Judy Figeroa of Harmony, Timothy Reavis (Candace) of Harmony, Margaret Shoemaker (Gary) of Statesville and Jennifer Revollar (Leo) of Harmony. Also surviving are brothers & sisters: Larry Reavis, (Judy) of Statesville, Richard Wayne Reavis of Hamptonville, Karen Norman of Hamptonville, Chris Reavis of Hamptonville and Brenda Wallace (Jerry) of Union Grove, along with 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Services celebrating Gene's life will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Friday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Lunsford Rev. Ray Kiser officiating.
