Nellie Wallace Myers

Nellie Wallace Myers, 74, of Statesville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. She was born in Iredell County on March 4, 1940 to the late Andrew G. and Viola Denny Wallace. Nellie was a graduate of Iredell County Schools and was married on December 21, 1956 to Billy Myers who preceded her death on June 10, 2000. They had over 43 years of marriage before his passing. She was of Baptist faith. She retired from Elmer's Products (formally Hunt Beinfang) after many years as a machine operator. Along with her parents and husband, Billy, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Brown; and a brother Henry Wallace. Mrs. Myers is survived by two sons, Ricky G Myers of Olin and Ronnie Myers (Lorrie) of Taylorsville; three daughters, Cynthia M. Carter (Dennis) of Mocksville, Linda M. Patterson of Statesville, and Rhonda M. Mendenhall (Todd) of King, NC; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She further survived by a sister, Juanita Cashett; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and JoAnne Wallace, and special friends, Ted Nelson and Rich Gladden. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Grassy Knob Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Chenevey officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grassy Knob Baptist Church, 333 Grassy Knob Road, Union Grove, NC 28689.
