Mrs. Nellie Luvine Dixon Allen, 82, crossed over to her heavenly home on June 25, 2018. Born in Moore County North Carolina, she was the 9th of 12 children born to Myrtle Hansil Dixon and J.J. Dixon.







As a young woman, Nellie worked as a waitress at Troutman's Caf and in later years she worked in textile mills such as Beauty Maid and Flexknit. However, her main focus in life was her family and being there whenever she was needed. She attended school in Moore and Iredell Counties before going to work at the caf. Nellie was of the Baptist faith.







On August 21, 1954, Nellie married James Elliott Allen and they shared 45 years together until his death in June 1999. Nellie was also preceded in death by her son, James David Allen, who passed in February 2017 and grandson-in-law, Charlie McDaniels who passed in November 2013.







In addition to her parents, husband, son, and grandson-in-law, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Olivia Dixon, Connie D. Fox and Carol D. Hager and three brothers, William Dixon, Charles Dixon and Lloyd Dixon.







Left with memories to love, cherish and share are Nellie's daughter Donna A. Worrell (John), granddaughters Christina A. McDaniels and Jeana W. Fisher (Matt),grandsons Matthew Allen (Crystal) and Ryan Allen (Jessica), great grandchildren Hayden and Trinity McDaniels, Elijah Allen, Cody Fisher (Courtney), Duston Fisher and Noah Fisher. She is further survived by four sisters, Mable D. Fox, Margaret D. Holt, Rachel D. Lambert, Wilma D. Smith and one brother, Ronald Dixon (Sandy). Nellie also leaves behind many, many nieces and nephews.







The family would like to thank the staff of Gordons Hospice House for the care they gave Nellie during her brief stay.







A celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Nicholson Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service. www.nicholsonfunerals.com
