Mrs. Wanda Sue Roten

Wanda Sue Stroud Roten, 57, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on December 14, 1963, she was a daughter of the late Gerald Stroud and Margie Phillips Stroud Sharpe who survives. Also surviving is her step father, Johnnie Sharpe. Wanda graduated from South Iredell High School in 1982. She was employed by JC Penny and worked at the local warehouse and enjoyed her time as a school bus driver. She and her husband owned and operated an auto repair shop 704 Auto Garage in Statesville and she enjoyed mechanic work and going to car shows. She also enjoyed her flower garden and having her makeup done.

Survivors include her husband, David Roten, two sons, Christopher Roten and his wife, Kellie and Eric Roten and his fiance', Colette. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Raelyn and Addilyn Roten and her dog, BooBoo.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Floyd Perry and Rev. Robin Miller officiating. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The services will be live streamed.
