Mrs. Cora Perry

Cora Perry, 89, of Statesville, NC, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Cora was born February 25, 1933, to Mr. William Blankenship and Mrs. Mae Harless Blankenship in Welch, West Virginia. Mrs. Perry loved the outdoors; she liked to camp and travel. One of her favorite animals was hummingbirds, she enjoyed watching them in her yard. Cora was a people person and liked to meet and talk with new people. Cora also looked forward to her Thursday hair appointments at the salon. She would even be sure to have it done when she was traveling.

Mrs. Perry is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Lyle Perry; and her son, Thea Perry.

She is survived by her sister, Irene B. Lilly, of Statesville, NC; daughter-in-law, Rita Marlena Perry, of Statesville, NC; special friend, Tom Lambert, of Statesville, NC; 3 step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Wednesday August 31, 2022 at 2PM
