Mrs. Betty Sigmon Starette

Mrs. Betty Lou Starrette passed away peacefully Saturday April 13, 2019 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.



Betty was born June 2, 1931 in Statesville to the late Grace Ann and Clyde Oscar Sigmon. She attended Celeste Henkle School and grew up in the Celeste Community.



Betty was married to the love of her life the late Herman Paul Starrette of Cool Spring. They lived and traveled to many cities throughout their lives but always called Statesville home and lived in the Cool Spring community where they were members of New Salem Methodist Church.



Betty Loved going to the beach with family and friends. She loved bird watching, holding her dogs and spending time with her great neighbors. Special thanks to Brian Cashion, Mary Moose, Michelle Carpenter, David and Kay Padgett and Tim Daley who kept her in plenty of Ice Cream and Twix Bars



She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Starrette, sisters Virginia Moose, Evaline Grant, and Shirley Galliher. Betty is survived by her daughter Lisa Bass, son in law Scott Bass, and Granddaughter Laura Bass, Brother Paul Sigmon (Ila Mae) and sister Kay Davidson (Jack) and Brother in Law Bill Galliher and many beloved nieces and nephews.



Family will receive friends at the home of Lisa and Scott. Nicholson Funeral Home will oversee arrangements and receive thoughts and memories posted to their website, www.nicholsnfuunerals.com.



Interment will take place with a private service at New Salem Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to New Salem Methodist Church or Gordons Hospice House. The family express special thanks to Iredell Memorial Hospital, Iredell County EMS and the Staff of Autumn Care.
