Mr. Reginald Franklin Dixon

Reginald Franklin (Reggie) Dixon, 81, of Statesville, died Tuesday at his home. Born in Iredell County on January 29, 1938, he was a son of the late Donald Franklin Dixon and Margaret Nicholson Dixon. On May 3, 1963 he married the former Sue Russell who survives. Mr. Dixon was a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church and was retired from Rental Uniform. He was a graduate of Statesville High School and served his country in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kay Dixon Sherrill and her husband, Thomas S. Sherrill, a grandson, Ryan T. Sherrill and is wife, Julie, a granddaughter, Morgan K. Sherrill and two great grandchildren: Gracie L. Sherrill and Levi T. Sherrill. Also surviving is a sister, Donna Dixon Josey and a number of extended family members including nieces and nephews.

Services celebrating Reggie's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 1, 2019 at Western Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Spry and Rev. John Stevenson officiating. The family will greet friends at the church for one hour prior to the service and private burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
