Mr. Jack Rogers

Mr. Jack Rogers, 83, of Statesville, died Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Lake View, S.C. on October 27, 1935, he was a son of the late Stonewall Jackson Rogers and Nannie C. Moody Rogers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren: PV2 Diamond J. Kennedy and Kaitlyn Rogers. Also preceding him in death were his siblings: Ralph and Ted Rogers, Bobbie Jean Gatlin and his twin sister, Jill Davis.

Mr. Rogers was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and retired from W. R. Grace which later became Southern States. He served in the U. S. Air Force. He enjoyed gardening, Duke Basketball and Atlanta Braves Baseball.

Survivors include his wife, the former Veda Mae McLeod, his children: Cynthia Diane Rogers, Steve Rogers (Wendy), Patricia Noisette (Maurice), Robert Rogers and Jennifer Shephard (Roderick). Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Catherine Inman Rogers. Additional survivors include his grandchildren: Jessica Holloway (Brad), Joshua Wilson, Ryan Rogers, Caroline Rogers, Donnel Kennedy, Kobe Kennedy, Krystal Kennedy, Lauren Rogers, Allye Rogers, Deveron Shephard, Annarah Shephard and Jenayeda Shephard. Also surviving are his great grandchildren: Jack, Lucy, Aliyah, Jade, Marley and Macey.

Services celebrating Mr. Rogers' life will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. Scott Eanes officiating. The family will greet friends in the sanctuary for one hour prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
