Mona Pearl Lackey

Naomi Pearl Travis Lackey, 89, of Statesville, passed away, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.



Mrs. Lackey was born March 3, 1928 in Statesville, NC and was the daughter of the late Charles Leroy Travis and Vera Nash Travis. She attended Iredell County Schools and on October 19, 1946, was married to the late Harold Lee Lackey, who passed away on June 19, 2007. She was a member of Covenant ARP Church in Statesville and was the owner of Telephone Answering Service. She was a member of Statesville Chapter Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years and a member of the ABWA.



She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Taylor (Bob) of Hickory, NC, two sons; Lee Lackey (Donna) of Mooresville, Gene Lackey of the home; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lackey was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Leroy Travis and three sisters, Fern Hamilton, Garnett Rimmer, Mary Nell Wooten.



Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 at Covenant ARP Church with Rev. Fred Legere and her grandson, Stephen Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday afternoon 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church.
