Minnie Sue Fulbright

Minnie Sue Chapman Fulbright, 84, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born in Alexander County on July 17, 1932 to the late Arthur Lee and Fannie Mae Chapman. Mrs. Fulbright attended Statesville City Schools and was married to David James Fulbright who preceded her in death. She had worked at Hubbard Farms and was retired from the Statesville City Schools where she had worked in the cafeteria. Mrs. Fulbright was a member of Bristol Drive Baptist Church where she served in the nursery and was a Sunday School Teacher for over fifty years. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Pamela Fulbright Morrison (Barry); a son, David Fulbright (Deborah); three grandchildren, Kaleb Fulbright, Shaun Connolly (Sara), and Jason Connolly (Candice); and five great grandchildren, Summer Fulbright, Isaac Connolly, Rachel Drum, Elizabeth Connolly, and Bethany Connolly. She is further survived by two sisters, Dorothy Privette and Ramona Davidson (Ralph), and two brothers, Tommy Chapman (Janet) and Ted Chapman (Garnet). Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Bristol Drive Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Shoemaker and Rev. J.B. Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Scott Souther, Tommy Ray Chapman, Jr., Jeff Fox, Eric Davidson, Wesley Loudermilt, and Donnie Pennell. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 pm. The family would like to thanks to special caregivers: Judy Blackwelder, Janet Chapman, Donna Dillard and the staff at the Gordon Hospice House. Memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
