Minnie Houston Gibson

January 13, 1936 — August 1, 2023

Minnie Houston Gibson, 87, of Statesville, passed peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2023, at the Gordon Hospice House.


She was born in Catawba County on January 13, 1936, to the late Dewey Karr Houston and Minnie Naomi Duke Houston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Gibson, 3 sisters, Marie Tevepaugh, Katherine Honeycutt, Peggy Williams, an infant brother, Grover Lee Houston, and three nieces.


Those left to cherish her memory include, a sister, Allie Eller (Coyte), eight nieces and nephews, and a neighbor who was like a son to her, Francisco Vega.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, August 7, 2023, at 10:00 am in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Entombment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
