Milton Archie Feimster

Milton Archie Feimster, 90, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born in Iredell County on August 4, 1927 to the late Earl and Margaret Wickertt Feimster. Mr. Feimster was a graduate of Scotts High School and served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He married Mary Nell Matlock in 1951 and they shared almost 66 years together before his passing. Mr. Feimster was a truck driver most of his career and retired from Roadway Express after 30 years of service. He was a member of Front Street Baptist Church and was an active member of the Loyal Soldiers Sunday School class. Milton loved his family and doted on them. His grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He loved farming, especially working in his garden that he gave most away to others. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, his twin sister who died at birth and Mae Watt. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Nell; one daughter, Sherry Gregory (Rick) of Lexington, NC; a grandson, Shane Vestal (Heather) of Low Gap, NC; a granddaughter, Alesha Vestal Cheek of Yadkinville, NC; five great grandchildren, Dylan, Mackenzie, Jade, Emma, and Lucas; a brother, Frank Feimster; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Front Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Stutts officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 until 1:50 pm. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Mallard Ridge Assisted Living in Clemmons, NC and Hospice for the love and care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
