Mildred Jarvis

Mildred Call Jarvis, 83, of Statesville, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at Olin Village. Mrs. Jarvis was born October 13, 1929 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Roby and Hattie Anderson Call. She attended Iredell County schools and was married to the late Clifton Jarvis. Mrs. Jarvis was a member of the East Side Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She also worked for South Side Drug Store where everyone knew her as the "Ice Cream Lady". Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Jarvis was preceded in death by two sons, Jessie and Donald Jarvis. Mrs. Jarvis is survived by one daughter, Virginia Jarvis Greer (Kenny) of Harmony and three sons, Ralph Jarvis (Sue) of Statesville, Jimmy Jarvis of Crystal Beach, TX and Percy Jarvis (Evelyn) of Statesville. She is further survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service for Mrs. Jarvis will be held 2:00pm Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Parks officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 -2:00 prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
