Mildred Faye Jenkins

Mildred Faye Grant Jenkins, 79, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on May 11, 1938 in Iredell County to the late John Bristol Grant and Lena Dishman Grant. Mrs. Jenkins was a graduate of Scotts High School and was married to Robert Bristol Jenkins, who survives. She was retired from the Iredell-Statesville School System where she had served as a Cafeteria Manager. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Northmont Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronda Kim Love, who passed away on June 8, 2017 and a brother, Lawrence James Grant, who died at birth. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert; a son, Roger Dale Jenkins; a daughter, Tina Michelle Cox; two granddaughters, Megan Leigh Cox and Brandi Renee Cox; two sisters, Lucille Jenkins and Carolyn Hall; a brother, John W. Grant, and nine great grandchildren, Riley, Ashlyn, Kinsley, Braxton, Brentlee, Zoiey, Jessi, Rhemi, and Waylon. Funeral services for Mrs. Jenkins will be held 3:00 P.M Friday at Northmont Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Boger officiating. She will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
