Mildred Clanton

Mrs. Mildred Rose Clanton, 75, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, November 06, 2014, at Huntersville Oaks in Huntersville, NC Mrs. Clanton was born June 20, 1939 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Lester Jenkins and Hattie Fox Jenkins. She attended Statesville city schools and she was married to Rayford Clanton who preceded her in death in 2000. Mrs. Clanton was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester, Grady, and Earl Jenkins and one sister, Rachel Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Clanton of Charlotte, her son, Michael Clanton of Concord, and granddaughter, Haley Clanton of Lexington along with a sister, Joanna J. Eades (Bobby) and brother, J.C. Jenkins (Carol), both of Statesville. She loved her family and she had a special love for the apple of her eye, Haley. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Clanton will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, November 8, 2014, in Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Eades officiating.
