Mike Lindsey

Carl Michael Lindsey "Mike", 61, of Statesville, passed away peacefully July 24, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mike was born May 8, 1951 in Statesville to Carl Edwin "Ed" and Helen Faye Sloan Lindsey. He lived and worked in Winston for 25 years doing construction for RJ Reynolds, before moving to Statesville. He also served two years in the U.S. Army. Mike was very talented at playing guitar and singing. He enjoyed working on computers until he got sick. He also enjoyed spending time with family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Lee Lindsey. He is survived by his loving parents, Carl and Helen Sloan Lindsey, sister, Judy Lindsey Teaster (Ralph) and nephew Brandon Lee Teaster. He is also survived by a special friend, Ann Honeycutt Lindsey along with numerous cousins. He will be truly missed by his family, especially his smile. Funeral services for Mr. Lindsey will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, July 27, 2012 at New Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Austin, Kane, Matthew and Gary Harris, Dennis Church and J.D. Stroud. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
