Michael Ray Brooks

Michael Ray Brooks, 57, of Claremont, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton, N.C. Born in Iredell County on April 26, 1960, he was a son of Carlos Brooks who survives and Barbara Ray Brooks who preceded him in death. He enjoyed sports and particularly followed the Carolina Panthers. He was employed by Doosan Power Equipment in Statesville. He was a graduate of West Iredell High School. Survivors include two sons, Justin Brooks (Jennifer Wilson) and Travis Brooks along with three sisters, Debbie Miller, Krystal Brooks and Kathy Powers. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Nicholson Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Hollar officiating. The family will speak with friends for one hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
