Michael William Morrissey, of Statesville, born on February 16, 1958, in Syracuse, New York, passed away peacefully at his home on April 5, 2025. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Michael's life was defined by his love and devotion to his family, as well as his passion for his work.

Michael graduated from Horseheads High School and went on to further his education at Corning Community College in New York. He carved out a successful career as an IT specialist, where he enjoyed every moment of his professional life. Colleagues would often remark on his dedication and expertise, reflecting the all-around good man he was.

Outside of his professional commitments, Michael found joy in many aspects of life. He embraced hobbies such as yardwork and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy the world around him. He was also a master at fixing things, applying his knowledge and skills to various challenges. Michael had a refined taste, always appreciating a good glass of bourbon, which he often enjoyed in the company of friends and family.

A man of strong faith, Michael was a devoted member of the Catholic community, embodying the values and principles that guided his life. His warm personality and gentle spirit endeared him to all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy Rumsey Morrissey; his son, Joshua Morrissey, and wife Avery; and his grandson, Hudson Morrissey. Michael also leaves behind his cherished siblings: brothers John Morrissey, Frank Morrissey and Lynn, Patrick Morrissey and Ann, and sister Angela Morrissey.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Morrissey, and his mother, Francis Wallace Morrissey. Michael's legacy of love and warmth will forever resonate with his family and friends, who will remember him for his unwavering kindness and devotion.

There are no formal services scheduled. Donations in Michael's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
