Michael "Mike" Felix Smith

Michael “Mike” Felix Smith, 60, of Wilkesboro, NC died Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on Christmas Day in 1963, to the late William Harrison Smith and Shirley Newhouse Smith. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his son, Linda Dyson Smith, and a brother, Tony Smith.

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and retired from the City of Statesville IT Department. He loved fast cars and had raced late model dirt track racing and go karts. He also loved his tractor, being outdoors and camping at the beach in the motorhome. More than anything else, he loved his family with all his heart.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 8 years, Shaun Brannock Smith, a son, Harrison Walter Smith (Aleena), a sister, Tina Lewis (Paul) and a niece, Alice Lewis.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel, and will continue from 3:00 until 6:00 pm in Room B at the Civic Center. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will take place earlier.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
